Speed networking to enhance Sanganai/Hlanganani interactions

The popular speed-networking platform is expected to enhance interactions at this year’s Sanganai/Hlanganani tourism Expo.

Speed networking is a fairly new concept in the Meetings Incentives Conferences and Exhibition (MICE) sector, which has been hailed for escalating business-to-business networking at various forums.

ZTA Chief Executive Officer, Givemore Chidzidzi says the innovative networking platform will enable both buyers and exhibitors to derive maximum benefits from Sanganai

“We have also launched ‘speed networking’ which is one of the most critical networking activities at this year’s Sanganai enabling buyers and exhibitors to derive maximum value from the event. They will meet the first few hours of the exhibition days. We have the exhibitors sitting in a conference arrangement, allowing buyers to come in and engage them.

We will give limited number of minutes to each pair to have some face to face discussion. Those that will click and feel the need for more interaction can then schedule to meet later. This is a very recent development in the exhibition industry and it comes mainly because some exhibitors expressed concern that they could not meet desired partners at such events, so this is an opportunity for every exhibitor to at least interact with desired buyers,” he said.

Chidzidzi said the innovative approach is in sync with the compatible size of Sanganai, which enables business targeting, and engagement.

Chidzidzi said exhibitors and buyers can also schedule meetings through an online platform that ZTA has created.

“We have also set up an online appointment system. This enables one to make appointments by choosing whom they would like to meet. The exhibitor or the buyer can initiate this. So the buyer can go through the profiles of the exhibitors and schedule those that they might be interested in meeting.

The exhibitors and buyers that are concerned have already started registering on the platform. Exhibitions have very limited time, so this is a way to maximise interactions in the duration of Sanganai. Buyers will be here for three days and going through multiple exhibitions can be difficult, so we have made sure that interactions can start as soon as someone registers,” he said.
