ZITF begins 2019 preparations

ZIMBABWE International Trade Fair Company (ZITF) has begun preparation for the 2019 edition of the country’s premier business exhibition scheduled for 23-27th of April.

The 2019 edition of ZITF will be 60th consecutive edition and will be running under the theme “Propagating Industrial Growth through Trade and Investment”

Addressing the media at the ZITF 2019 marketing campaign launch, Minister of Industry and Commerce Nqobizitha Ndlovu said his ministry is pleased that preparations for the fair have begun and called on companies to take the opportunity through participation.

“We are therefore pleased to note that preparations for the 60th consecutive edition of the annual ZITF have officially begun with the launch of the show’s marketing and promotion campaign.

“The special diamond jubilee trade show will run from 23-27 April 2019 at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo…

“The theme is a rallying call for industry and commerce to participate in trade showcase to explore and cement synergies that promote trade and investment,” he said.

The Minister added that the 2019 edition of ZITF is coming at a time when Zimbabwe has embarked on an economic reconstruction agenda that emphasis on re-engagement with the international community.

“ZITF 2019 will provide an opportune engagement platform between and among trading and cooperating partners, potential investors, international and local business people.

“In line with this thrust, ZITF has embarked on an aggressive international exhibitor and visitor drive that complements government’s investment and international trade vision,” he said.

According to the Minister, ZITF has been conducting visits to foreign diplomatic missions in Zimbabwe inviting exhibitors and business visitor delegations as well as participants for the various concurrent networking sessions.

Some of the countries that have since shown interest to participate include Botswana, Brazil, China, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Pakistan, Russia and Zambia.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company will be taking part at the Intra Africa Trade Fair taking place in Cairo Egypt where it has lined up engagements as part of the broader strategy to attract quality international exhibitors that will result in improved export market diversification and access to new markets for the country.

Exhibition stands are already being sold and allocated within their various product groupings with about 138 exhibitors have confirmed participation for the 2019 edition.
